My name is José Preciado I am an immigrant from Mexico and I had trouble speaking English because it was so different from the Spanish I learned back in Jalisco but what helped me was another friend that was also an immigrant but from Britain. I was in his house one day and he started to talk to me about a British Sci-Fi show called “Doctor Who”. Later he showed and I was amazed by the creatures and he even explained the Doctor’s unique said you can watch it with me all you want and so we watched series 1. Later I continued to go to his house to watch Doctor Who with him but before we could end Series 1 his parents had to go back to Britain to help his grandma that was really sick. We had a discussion about where to watch Doctor Who because at that time he had not notified me that it was made by the BBC or the British Broadcasting Channel a channel which that at the time was not part of my cable he told me to watch in the Internet for free. I did not have access to the Internet but then I realized I can just go to the library. I was limited on how many times I was capable of going to the library. So then I decided to save up for a laptop took me a year. By then my parents got a new and better job and were able to get a decent WiFi. I was so happy and started watching Doctor Who non-stop and was fascinated by the 12th and 11th doctor which back this was back in 2014. By watching the new series from start to end and the 8th Doctor who movie by 2014 I learned and understood more English than I ever could before. I found the Doctor as a hero that help me communicate better with my American colleagues and later I just about to graduate of high school and planning to major on Political Science all thanks to some one called the Doctor.

When I was a kid, I played piano but I left, and in recent years I tried to get back to it, without having success. I still want to be a pianist, and someday, I will be one. Apart from piano, I play a little bit classical guitar. Communication is very important to me, and that's why I love learning new languages, actually I can speak fluently in Spanish (my mother tongue), and English, so if you wish, we can write in your language preference. Apart from those two, I'm a French and Japanese student. If you know one of those (or maybe both), please, let me practice with you, primarily Japanese, my French is very rusty. I also want to learn these languages to read a lot of books in their language, and I read a lot. We can talk about books if you want, and movies also. But there is a subject that I really love and hope to work in that in a future: video games. Please, don't confuse this with laziness (or Fortnite), I really love a game with great design, narrative and gameplay. Games as a media to tell a story, it can be very powerful. I love a good game as a I love a good book. I haven't travel much this year to other countries, but I love it (who doesn't? ) I adore to watch new sights and have new experiences.
